Gourmet and cotton candy – how do they go together?

Cotton candy in Germany is mainly served at funfairs and folk festivals – usually mass-produced. Whimsical Swirls, on the other hand, builds on American catering culture, where imaginative cotton candy creations with a variety of flavors and decorations are served as a matter of course at high-class, festive events. Rather like a candy or dessert buffet here. We take the sweet experience to a whole new level. Simply gourmet.

What does the name Whimsical Swirls mean?

»Whimsical« means »wundersam«, »geheimnisvoll« oder »verschmitzt« in German. »Swirls« means »Wirbel« oder »Strudel«. Whimsical Swirls could therefore be translated as »Wunderwirbel«. This stands for our freshly spun sugar clouds that will enchant you with their magical flair and sweet childhood memories.

Where is Whimsical Swirls available?

In the initial phase of Whimsical Swirls, we will come to your event if it takes place in Cologne or within a 100-kilometer radius. Travel distances of up to 20 kilometers are included in our service packages. Beyond that, we charge travel expenses of €0.90 per extra kilometer. We ship our Pre-Pack offers free of charge within Germany. Shipping costs for international orders will be agreed upon separately.

How far in advance should I book?

Accepted Answer

We recommend that you book as early as possible, but at least two weeks before your event. The booking is guaranteed as soon as we have received your approval of the written service agreement and your deposit.

Question 5

What are the payment terms?

Accepted Answer

Upon a binding booking, we will charge you a deposit of 50 percent of the agreed service costs. The remaining amount is due on the day of your event. From corporate clients, we only accept bank transfers. Private customers may choose between bank transfers and cash payments.

Question 6

How much space does Whimsical Swirls need at my event?

Accepted Answer

Our cotton candy cart requires a stand area of approx. 1.50 x 1.50 meters on level ground, whether indoors or outdoors. A free power socket should be no further than 8 meters away. For events on higher floors, an elevator should be available. We need access to the stand area at least 30 minutes before the start of your event.

Do special rules apply to outdoor events?

Accepted Answer

We can spin our whimsical swirls indoors and outdoors. However, cotton candy melts much faster in the heat and high humidity, which you should bear in mind especially for outdoor events in summer. On days with persistent rain or other bad weather, we can't set up our equipment outside. In this case, we need space inside. If your outdoor event has to be postponed due to bad weather, we will be happy to arrange an alternative date within the next six months. Otherwise, our cancellation conditions apply.

Question 8

What are the cancellation conditions?

Accepted Answer

In the event that your event cannot take place as planned, you should notify us immediately so that we can arrange an alternative date if applicable. If you cancel at least 72 hours before the planned event, we will refund your deposit minus a cancellation fee of 20 percent of the deposit. We will credit the full cancellation fee towards a new booking within the next six months. If you cancel less than 72 hours before the planned event, we will unfortunately not be able to refund your deposit. In this case, we will credit 80 percent of the deposit paid towards a new booking within the next six months.
